We have been involved in restoring an 1805 Gothic gatehouse in Ashton Court Estate and Ashton Park School after a recent accident. Our goal was to preserve the gatehouse’s historic structure, so we used an innovative approach. With the help of a ‘Cintec cementitious sock’ reinforcement system from FALCON STRUCTURAL REPAIRS LIMITED, we stabilized the tower and installed a steel support frame. This allowed us to safely remove and rebuild the damaged section. Hancock Stone Limited and E G Carter & Co Ltd are restoring the tower’s bottom half, overseen by conservation Architect Ashley Davies.
